The Making of Black & White Prints

 

My Black and White Printing is done on the Epson P6000 24in printer with Piezography inks.

You might ask what is “Piezography ink“ ?

Piezography is a monochromatic inks and software brand that produces the highest standard in black and white printing. It was first introduced as a Trademarked brand in 2000 and has undergone successive improvements and changes. Its primary purpose is printing black and white photographs with carbon. Today, it is a fully mature and developed product with benefits that remain the target of past and current OEMs. It is a notch well above current OEM systems and sets a level of its own.

 

One of the benefits of the Piezography proprietary media profiles is double the optical resolution of the converted Epson printer. They also produce more printable locations for microdots and allow a substantially smoother tonal latitude. Combined with up to seven shades of carbon ink, these proprietary media profiles have better acuity and detail, softer skin tones, increased shadow/highlight detail, and substantially more gray levels than the Epson ABW system. Piezography is the only system capable of printing tens of thousands of gray levels, making it a perfect accompaniment to digital photography.

 

For most of our customers, however, the most significant benefits are that a Piezography print has much more "breath," "depth," and "spatial quality."

• Floating Neilson metal frame with wood cradle mounting is a popular display option that offsets the print. It is glass-free, wood-mounted, surrounded by a floating metal frame and UV laminated style, which eliminates reflections and is easy to clean.​

 

• Metal Neilson frame mounting for those who like traditional frames. The print is mounted on museum mat boards designed for conservation and preservation, is acid-free, and made from 100% cotton. The glazing/glass is ArtGlass Water White Anti-Reflective low-iron framing glass. This glass does not compromise color, clarity, or image visibility; it is scratch-resistant and 2mm thick.
